Earth Day is celebrated each year on April 22nd, marking the anniversary of the modern environmental movement. Earth Day is marked by more than a billion people annually as a day of action toward a cleaner environment and the fight against climate change. We encourage you to give to this campaign, or to search on Bright Funds for a nonprofit that is working toward a healthier planet. The composition of nonprofits in this fund is subject to change.

World Water Day, observed on March 22 of each year, raises awareness of the global water and sanitation crisis. Millions of people around the world go without access to safe and clean water sources each day, and several organizations are working tirelessly to make a change. You can make a difference by being more mindful of your own water consumption, doing your part to keep your local water sources clean, participating in local cleanup efforts, and donating to organizations who are doing the critical work to improve clean water access and sanitation procedures.

A powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck central Myanmar on Friday, March 28, 2025, devastating the city of Mandalay as well as various remote areas in the region. Officials in Myanmar have reported over 140 fatalities, with hundreds more injured and more fatalities expected to be reported in the coming days. Severe damage to infrastructure and dangerous conditions created by the earthquake have resulted in significant challenges to delivering relief efforts. Multiple areas of Myanmar will be in critical need of immediate and long-term relief resources as local agencies and officials work diligently towards recovery. The earthquake's impact was also felt several hundred miles away in Bangkok, Thailand, where at least 10 fatalities have been reported due to a building's collapse and dozens are injured or missing. The city of Bangkok is currently under a state of emergency as search and rescue efforts are deployed and damages are assessed. The following international nonprofits are providing humanitarian aid in areas impacted by the earthquake. Please note that the organizations included in this Fund are subject to change as we learn more about needs on the ground.

March is Women's History Month, an annual celebration and recognition of women's achievements and contributions to society throughout American history. The 2024 theme for Women's History Month is; “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion” and aims to highlight women who have historically fought for the elimination of discrimination and bias. The following organizations are supporting and recognizing the importance of women's contributions to all facets of American society through education, advocacy, and direct services.

In honor of Jewish Heritage Month, Shalomspace is highlighting the following non-profits that reflect the two important Jewish mitzvot (commandments): tzedakah (helping those in need) and tikkun olam (repairing the world).

In the wake of the recent earthquake that struck Myanmar, Thailand and surrounding areas, thousands of families are facing unimaginable hardship—displaced from their homes, in urgent need of food, water, shelter, and medical assistance. The situation is dire, and the time to act is now. The API ERG at the Brattle Group is committed to doing its part to help those affected by this disaster, including several API members who have ties to the areas affected.

In honor of Asian Pacific Islander Desi (APID) Heritage Month, APID is highlighting the following non-profits that offer vital financial support to support the community. Each organization celebrates the APID community’s roots while supporting members amidst challenging circumstances.

Churchville Nature Center sits on a 65-acre preserve adjacent to the Churchville Reservoir in Northampton Township located in Churchville, Pennsylvania. The center’s outdoor features include two miles of trails, wildlife and botanical gardens, ponds, Butterfly House, Lenape Village, bird blind, campfire pit, Pleiades Observatory, playground and picnic grove. Indoor features in the nature center include interactive exhibits, live animal displays, library, community room and gift shop. The center also utilizes several green building features that minimize the facility’s impact on the environment. A full range of year-round programs are offered to schools, scouts, youth groups, adults and families, that include outdoor classes, family events, badge programs, children’s camps, nature walks, campfire programs, and volunteer projects. Popular events include the “Rocks & Minerals Expo,” “Arthropalooza,” “Monarch Bon Voyage Party” and others.
