St. Mary's Food Bank
St. Mary's Food Bank works to alleviate hunger through the gathering and distribution of food while encouraging self-sufficiency, collaboration, advocacy and education.
In addition to food distribution, St. Mary's supports the nearly 1 in 3 children in Arizona that struggle with hunger through Kids Cafe®, School Pantry and Backpack programs. They also have a Community Kitchen which is a hands-on training program that teaches adults with barriers to employment to be successful in the food service industry.
New Life Center
New Life Center believes that every family has the right to live free from violence. The passion of our board, volunteers, and staff extends to the youngest victims of domestic violence – children who witness domestic violence or are abused themselves.
New Life Center serves more than 1,000 children and adults annually through our emergency shelter and outreach support programs. More than 70% of New Life Center’s shelter population is children. In 2017, New Life Center served more children and provided more bed nights than any other single facility providing emergency shelter to domestic violence survivors in Arizona.
Valley of the Sun United Way
Together with our donors, volunteers, and partners, we are breaking the cycle of poverty in Maricopa County by fighting for children, families, and neighborhoods.
We bring partners together from every sector – public, private, and non-profit. No other organization brings together as many people in as many ways to fight poverty.
Together, we can guide members of our community to achieve their potential through education, to become self-sufficient by earning a stable income, and to work hard to improve their lives, breaking the cycle.
Our mission is to feed America's hungry through a nationwide network of member food banks and engage the country in the fight to end hunger.
In a country that wastes billions of pounds of food each year, it's almost shocking that anyone in America goes hungry. Yet every day, there are millions of children and adults who do not get the meals they need to thrive. We work to get nourishing food – from farmers, manufacturers, and retailers – to people in need. At the same time, we also seek to help the people we serve build a path to a brighter, food-secure future.

HYC assists more than 800 homeless youth in 100 high schools and charter schools in Maricopa County. Services are provided at no cost to the student, school or district.
HYC is a preventive measure to chronic homelessness. When you take away the worry about basic needs, homeless youth will thrive, graduate and succeed.
