Foxy and the Hounds
This nonprofit rescues dogs of all ages that have been injured, neglected, abandoned, or abused. These dogs mainly come from the streets or overcrowded shelters where their chances of survival are minimal and focuses on those that are often overlooked. Foxy and the Hounds provides much needed healthcare, grooming, food, warm beds, and loving foster homes until the absolutely best forever home is found for each dog. It was started by people who have so much passion about their mission of helping the ones that need them most, and fully supported by volunteers. I am onboard with that!
Greater Boise Pug Rescue and Placement Group
As a pug owner (well, he's part pug), I became endeared to this nonprofit when I moved to Montana. This group focuses on seniors and special needs pugs and pug mixes. Their mission is "to prevent cruelty to Pugs and their crosses by rescuing them from dangerous situations; to relieve owners, whose circumstances have forced them to relinquish their pet(s); to provide emergency medical care, when required; and to educate current and potential Pug owners in the form of workshops and one-on-one meetings, ensuring the well-being and a healthy quality-of-life for the animal.” Oftentimes, dogs are overlooked when they are older or need special care. There's a special place in my heart for a nonprofit who dedicates themselves to helping dogs live their best lives, especially puggies!
